I was invited up for a quick 24-hour yoga retreat that was so needed by everyone that attended. As we all hustle and grind in our day-to-day sometimes it’s nice to retreat to the mountains for rest and recovery. I have to admit that I always want to retreat to the mountains. There is something so magical and healing about fresh mountain air. I also love a body of water so the fact that Stanley, Idaho has a lake and a huge river running through it, and mountains surrounding it is incredible!
I shared a reel showcasing this girl’s getaway on my Instagram! Be sure to check it out HERE and while you are there let’s be friends!
Now let’s get to the good stuff in this girl’s getaway itinerary.
HOW TO GET TO STANLEY, IDAHO
Before we get started I wanted to make sure you knew where Stanley, Idaho is located. It is about a three-hour drive from Boise, Idaho give or take some time depending on stops and speed of driving. The roads are full of curves and you will be heading up into the mountains. If driving in the colder months it is important to have a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to ensure a safe journey.
If you are coming from Sun Valley, Idaho it is a quick one to one and half hour drive from that side of the mountains.
Making the trip from Utah, you will be looking at about a six-hour drive if you are heading from Salt Lake City. Trust me, Stanley, Idaho is worth the hours in the car or airfare to get here. It is a place like no other. A place that you will continue to think of long after you leave.
“When there is something in your nature that makes you sit and dream, of the wind and the pine trees and the murmuring of the stream; When that something keeps a’ calling till you feel you want to go, Start your journey, travel westward, to the land called “Idaho”

SOAKING IN THE HOT SPRINGS IN STANLEY, IDAHO

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with Idaho Hot Springs? We are so lucky to have over 130+ hot springs sprinkled all over Idaho! I personally love all of the wild, natural hot springs. There is something so wonderful about soaking in the great outdoors and watching the day go by. I woke up early for a sunrise hot spring soak and was pleasantly surprised by a bald eagle that flew over. It’s not every day that you have a bald eagle flying over you while soaking in a natural hot spring. There are so many places that you can pay to enjoy a more established hot spring or get adventurous and head out to find your own.
I was able to visit Boat Box Hot Springs and Sun Beam Hot Springs while at this Ultimate Girls Getaway. Honestly, when in Stanley, Idaho, you must visit these two. They are both right outside of town and offer a relaxing spot right on the river.

EXPLORING RED FISH LAKE LODGE

This was my first time at Red Fish Lake Lodge and Wow! I was blown away by the cabin feel, the bar scene, the gorgeous view of the lake, and the mountains. It really is a hidden gem tucked back in Stanley, Idaho. This lodge offers so much and we really enjoyed ourselves. The bar is such a fun place to sit and enjoy great drinks, games, and company. Hang outside on their incredible patio for an epic view of the lake and surrounding mountains. I could have sat on the patio all evening and watched the sunset over the water.
But, we also had dinner reservations so inside we went. The food served at Limbert’s at Red Fish Lake Lodge is really delicious. Every item that we ordered was filled with so much flavor and texture. With a larger group, we were able to order a ton of their menu items and every single plate was licked clean. We especially liked the cinnamon, and sugar donut holes for dessert, so be sure to give them a try.
Red Fish Lake Lodge
“Built in 1929…..A tradition of rustic Idaho adventure hospitality. Since its construction, in 1929 by Idaho hero Robert Limbert the Redfish Lake Lodge has become a place of warmth, energy, Idaho adventure, and authenticity for generations of families and treasured guests. Other than a couple of thoughtful renovations, the Lodge remains much the same as it was back in 1929. The resort sits on 16 acres of U.S. Forest Land.
In the main Lodge, you will find the front desk, our amazing restaurant Limbert’s, and the rustic lounge. The second level has 8 motel rooms for guests. Out on the property, there are 21 historic and modern cabins and 11 motel/suite-style units. The charming General Store is next to the lodge and offers souvenirs, gifts and basic groceries, and camping and fishing supplies. The Redfish Marina sits directly in front of the Lodge and provides boat rentals and a hiking shuttle into the beautiful Sawtooth Wilderness Area.”
