Best Tacos in Idaho! Is there anything better than good tacos? Are you a soft taco or crunchy taco fan? I tend to be both, I am more concerned with the goodness in each bite than the texture of the tortilla! In this post I have compiled my favorite taco places and what I consider the best tacos in Idaho! I hope you are able to make your way to all of these!
The Funky Taco – Boise, ID
This place is so much fun! It is located on the main strip in Boise, a fun blue painted building, as soon as you walk in the door its a party waiting to happen. On most evenings during the warmer months they have live music, the staff is super friendly and fun to hang around. Now, let’s talk about the tacos! I think you can see for yourself from the pictures they pack a lot of goodness into their tacos. They are stuffed with ingredients that complement each other so nicely and I am a sauce girl so I am in heaven with each dish served! Outside of some of the best tacos in Idaho, they have a kimchi quesadilla that I included a picture of that is hands down one of my favorite dishes. Do yourself a favor and make your way to this funky little place!
Madre – Boise, ID
Is there a theme with taco places and having the building painted Blue? Madre is another great taco place in Boise, Idaho and showcases a fun blue exterior with a very clean, airy interior decor. I really loved the feeling of both inside and sitting out on the patio. Going with a group of people is always a good choice, we ordered a couple different trays of assorted tacos and tried their chicken salad. I loved the variety of tacos they offered and all having fresh ingredients, good amount of sauce and texture in each bite. I really enjoyed the chicken salad I thought that the spice really complemented the greens and it was a nice portion of healthy ingredients. They have many starters, tacos, kid friendly options & drinks!

Amano – Caldwell, ID
I don’t even know if I have the words to do Amano justice. This place has become one of mine as well as everyone else’s favorite place to get traditional Michoacan, and Oaxacan style Mexican food. Everything is made by hand and you can see & taste the quality in every taco, enchilada, quacamole & definitely their cocktails! The space is so unique and used to be a bank back in the day, beautiful refinished wood on the ceiling. Becca is one of the nicest women I have ever met and is such a wealth of information. I have my fingers crossed that a second location will be opening, a bit closer to Boise. With that being said it is worth the drive to Caldwell for some of the best tacos in Idaho, the friendship & a good cocktail for a night out on the town!

Mesa Tacos + Tequila – Nampa, ID
This taco + tequila shop nestled in Nampa, ID was such a fun place to visit. I really liked the decor with the wood, steel and exposed brick feeling without. The menu is full of tacos but also with some yummy appetizers, quesadillas, salads and a lot of tequila! They have a handful of flights of tequila to choose from, which being a tequila girl I could on board with those! Everything I tried had a lot of flavor and was made with quality ingredients you could taste in every bite. I sat up at the bar when I popped in and had such a blast watching their bartenders go to work on so many great looking cocktails. If you are in Nampa be sure to stop by for some tacos and tequila!

Aquila Con El Taco – Burley, ID
This little hole in the wall place has become one of our favorites. It is on the drive to and from Salt Lake City, my old stomping ground and during the days of long distance dating with my now husband, I made a lot of trips. The staff at Aquila are so nice and their parking lot is always full, which is a great sign there is good food being served. I really love the Aztec tacos, they have a grilled jalapeno, fresh cilantro, onion and avocado. So Good! I really haven’t ordered something I didn’t enjoy. So next time you are in Burley, ID make sure you make time to stop at Aquila Con El Taco and see if you agree on them serving some of the best tacos in Idaho.
